At the Tallinn TV Tower, an engaging and discovery-rich interactive exhibition, “On the Same Wavelength. The Physics of the TV Tower,” invites visitors into the world of science, technology and inventions behind media and the TV Tower.
The exhibition is part of the exhibition series “Tallinn speaking! A Century on Air,” dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Estonian broadcasting and opens the door to the behind-the-scenes world of radio, television and modern communication.
What does the exhibition offer?
The exhibition is built on a hands-on approach, offering the opportunity to learn through experimentation. Here you can explore:
- the world of electromagnetic waves – from home to space
- listen to radio stations from around the world
- try transmitting a radio signal yourself
- tune antennas and direct signals
- learn Morse code and send messages
- experiment with the unique Theremin musical instrument
- play early television games
- experience how radio communication and mobile communication work
- feel how wind affects the 314-metre-high TV Tower
- listen to the sounds of lightning strikes and understand their impact
Science that becomes an experience
The exhibition “On the Same Wavelength. The Physics of the TV Tower” combines physics and engineering, media history, modern technology and hands-on experience. Complex phenomena become understandable, and invisible radio waves become tangible.
Who is the exhibition for?
- families and curious explorers
- school students and those interested in science and technology
- anyone who wants to understand how media really works
Come and discover…
…how sound is created, how signals travel, and how messages move from one point to another,
…how the invisible world of radio waves shapes our everyday lives,
…how the TV Tower helps us stay on the same wavelength.
