About the Exhibition
The exhibition “A Century of TV Legends. The Ladies of Estonian Television” at Tallinn TV Tower brings together the most iconic women of Estonian Television across seven decades, highlighting their role in shaping the country’s media and cultural landscape.
Part of Estonian Public Broadcasting 100
As part of the Estonian Public Broadcasting 100th anniversary year, the Tallinn TV Tower presents the exhibition “A Century of TV Legends. The Ladies of Estonian Television” in its entrance gallery.
The exhibition introduces visitors to the familiar and beloved women of Estonian Television across seven decades. From the first continuity announcers to today’s news anchors and talk show hosts, these women have played an important role in shaping Estonian television culture and have remained part of viewers’ everyday lives and special moments alike.
Their voices, presence, and professionalism have accompanied generations of viewers. The exhibition is dedicated to all women of television, including those whose work has taken place behind the scenes.
Featured ETV television personalities include Ruth Peramets-Püss, Alice Talvik, Ivi Kreen, Moidela Tõnisson, Reet Oja, Marite Kallasma, Merle Randma-Aru, Ewe Kaselaan, Katrin Saks, Mare Taimre, Aune Past, Reet Linna, Maire Aunaste, Astrid Kannel, Katrin Viirpalu, Anne Raiste, Aet Süvari, Anu Välba, Grete Lõbu, Kadri Hinrikus, Kerli Dello, Karmel Killandi, Aivi Parijõgi and Monika Tamla.
The exhibition has been created in cooperation with Estonian Public Broadcasting and Tartu Hansa Rotary Club.
