01 — OVERVIEW
The exhibition in brief
The exhibition “On the Same Wavelength. The Physics of the TV Tower” brings together physics and engineering, the history of media, modern technology and hands-on experience. Here complex phenomena become understandable and invisible radio waves become something you can sense.
WHO IS THE EXHIBITION FOR?
- families and curious explorers
- school pupils and anyone interested in technology and science
- everyone who wants to understand how media actually works
02 — WHAT DOES THE EXHIBITION OFFER?
“Hands on” – learn by trying
The exhibition is built on the hands-on principle. Here you can discover:
1
the world of electromagnetic waves, from the home to outer space
2
listen to radio stations from all over the world
3
try transmitting a radio signal yourself
4
tune antennas and direct signals
5
learn Morse code and send messages
6
try out the unique Theremin instrument
7
play the first television games and enjoy a retro gaming experience
8
experience how radio communication and mobile communication work
9
feel how the wind affects the 314-metre TV Tower
10
listen to the sounds of lightning strikes and understand their impact
COME AND DISCOVER…
…how sound is born, how a signal travels and how a message gets from one point to another, how the invisible world of radio waves shapes our everyday life, and how the TV Tower helps us stay on the same wavelength.
