“Television – A window to the world”
The goal of the educational program is to introduce students to the everyday information environment in which we live. By completing the program, students will be able to analyze and use media content and sources, recognize authorship, create high-quality media content considering their goals and societal communication norms and act safely and responsibly in their information environment.
The program provides an overview of the emergence of mass media and related technologies. Participants will find answers to the following questions:
- why was TV Tower built;
- what is the current function of TV Tower;
- what is Levira;
- how did the Internet originate and what risks does it pose today;
- what are the characteristics of news;
- what was the first TV like.
Students will then be divided into groups, each of which will create and present their own news segment. The news segments will be filmed using students’ smartphones and will serve as media-related educational material for the class.
At the end of the program, each participant can reward themselves with a stunning view from Northern Europe’s highest open viewing platform.
