ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

Tallinn Botanic Garden is a journey through space, where we learn to notice the beauty hidden in nature. Tallinn TV Tower is a journey through time, where we learn to know and to listen to the stories hidden in history.

On the tour of the Botanic Garden we travel from the rainforest to the desert: with a guide we visit the evergreen forest of the Mediterranean, take a look at the unusual plants of Australia and New Zealand, walk through the deserts of America and Africa and enjoy the lushness of the rainforest. We meet pineapple, papaya, the cacao tree, black pepper, the lipstick tree and the cotton shrub, and the outdoor collections and the sensory garden hold surprises too.

At the TV Tower we travel back in time to the Soviet period and get to know the history of the tallest building in Estonia through the interactive permanent display: why was the TV Tower built, and why in Kloostrimetsa? Why is the TV Tower called a transmitter station? Finally we go up to the 21st floor, where a wonderful view over Tallinn opens up.

Bringing together two neighbouring but completely different worlds is unique. It is a journey through space, through time and through height all at once, and it weaves together natural history, technology and recent Estonian history.

Teletornil on ambitsioon kasvada maailma kõrgeimaks meediamuuseumiks.

Tallinna Teletorni omanik on AS Levira, mille aktsiatest kuulub 51% Eesti riigile ja 49% Prantsuse telekommunikatsiooniettevõttele TDF.“
